Ann Gillespie holds a BA in Studio Arts from Hamilton College, in upstate New York. Alongside a career in graphic design, she began creating her own artwork again in 2008. Her first focus was on printmaking, later switching to a primary focus in pastels, and now also incorporates very loose acrylic floral paintings into her summer routine. She is passionate about landscape painting, especially painting outside “en plein air” which helps her observe color and light more directly and keeps her more connected to nature. She’ll have all three mediums for you to see in her “Studio in the Woods” behind her Bolton home. Ann is a member of Copley Society of Art (Boston, Newbury St), Master Level Artist at The Newburyport Art Association, and a signature member of Central MA Pastel Society (CMPS). She has been teaching pastels at Fivesparks (Harvard, MA) since 2017.
