Acrylic

After majoring in art in college, I did a lot of quilt making for years. Because I had a catering business, eventually I just didn't have the time anymore for quilting, or any other visual arts. Fast forward about 30 years, and I am working at Post Road Art Center in Marlborough. I was looking for a way to get back into the visual arts, but was feeling really intimidated. Acrylic pour painting seemed to me a good way to get back into some kind of art. I kind of saw it as a stepping stone to more traditional painting, but I really fell in love with the color and movement in pouring. It's so ironic that such inorganic ingredients produce such organic images. They are really a kind of Rorschach test - everyone seems to see something different in them. For now, I am offering paintings that range in size from 10 x 10 to 20 x 20.
